All these problems to which you alude escaped my attention. When SP6
came out, we applied it just like we did every time a service pack came
out. Had little to no problems with it...that I know of. Of course, to
explain even further...while working in this environment, we had
segmented out each server for a specific role. When you have a huge
budget, you get to have a lot of toys. Anyways, servers were for one
application only, i.e. exchange, domain controller, WINS, DNS, or
data... Could this be why I didn't see to many headaches at the time???

SP3 for Win2K totally crashed thethin.net servers when I applied it. I
had to do a full rebuild. Guess you are just a lucky lucky boy. JK

I don't know what kind of expiriences you have had. In the past ten
years or so of working with various Windows NT / 2000 server
environment, I have yet had problems made worse by service packs. Also,
I have yet to run into a service pack that has made any of my live
servers not live anymore. Maybe I just have more faith in Microsoft
than most... I don't know?
