BTW, this also eliminates installing the OLD MDAC that it tries if you use
the default installation.

I can't seem to find this on the archive, but try this out... This is for
Visio Technical. Change \\vette02\apps\Visio2000Tech to your correct UNC
path.

Install Visio via Add/Remove

  \\Vette02\apps\Visio2000Tech\Install\bin\sp\SPCore\SPCore.msi
 \\Vette02\apps\Visio2000Tech\Install\bin\sp\Repository\repository.msi
 \\Vette02\apps\Visio2000Tech\Install\bin\sp\Vim\Setup.msi - if this prompts
you

for a path, map drive and point it to
\\vette02\apps\Visio2000Tech\install\bin

 Product Key is in \\vette02\apps\Visiotech2000\productkey.txt
 Perform Custom Installation
 Turn on: Online Documentation
 Sample Drawings

Turn off: Add on - Database Wizard

  Add the Key in Regedt32:
HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal
Server\Install\Software\Visio\Visio 2000\Application : Featuremgmt : REG_SZ
Value: 0

or launch \\vette02\sw\APPS\Visio2000Tech\visio2kfeaturemgmt.reg

Go to cmd and execute: (this step ensures that hh.exe - the .chm file
viewer - is correctly configured in the registry) Change user /install
 cd /d c:\winnt\system32\
 hh.exe
 change user /execute

Subject: [THIN] Visio 2000 disabled terminal services service..

Today I installed visio 2000 on my test server and it looks to have disabled
the terminal services service.......

I installed the app, rebooted, logged in on the console again ran visio no
problems.

Went back to my desk to start an ICA session to the server and it "was not
accepting connections"

Went back and had a look on the console and founs the servce was set to
disabled. I know this server was working fine via ICA 30 minutes before
visio was installed after I installed sp3.

The only thing out of the ordinary is that I am currently testing w2k sp3 on
this box..

Config - w2k Sp3 , MF Xpe 1.0 FR2 sp2 + mf hotfixes=3D20

Has anyone ever seen anything wired like this with visio? I had a look thru
the archives but nothing...

I'm stumped...

John
