[THIN] Using Licenses

I am sure the answer lies in the archives, but since
the site is down....

I have published MS Outlook and MS Excel load balanced
across three servers as separate published apps.  If I
happen to connect to both apps and get load balanced
to the same server, do I eat up 1 license or 2?

If I connect to both apps and get load balanced to
separate servers I would assume I use 2?

Lastly, what is a good rule of thumb for using license
pooling?
