 I was stuck at my in-laws in the Scottish boondocks at  Christams, and
had to do Admin work on a 56k Modem dial-up across the internet (Actual
connect speed between 30-40k). Performance was fine for me using RDP at
that speed.

At LAN speeds, or say at WAN speeds, though (for example, as low as
64k).

I realise the gap is narrowing, has been for some time, and will
probably continue - but how much of the traditional low speed links, and
partial window updates ICA wins, has gone away?
