I've had issues with the UPD in FR3 where large jobs will hang in queue (~20mb). Switching to a generic driver worked fine. Additionally, I don't think the UPD has the compression that Thinprint and other products like that have. So, on remote jobs it's the smart choice to conserve your bandwidth, in my opinion. I'd see how the UPD works in your environment and decide from there.
