Well. The UPD from Citrix (I assume that is what you are talking about) has
some functionality as far as a UPD. Not bad really. But check out our
Printing White paper (Really the printing chapter from our book) Its
available from Brian Madden's web site.

The UPD from citrix is really a couple of HP Drivers that are used for
different types of printers. There's more to it, but its really a fancy
driver with a mapping algorithm. The software like thinprint is totally
different. Check out the paper it has LONG descriptions of the entire print
process.

Subject: [THIN] Thin Print vs UPD

Hi List,

Can anyone explain when Thin Print and when the Universal Printer driver is
used.
So what are the advantages of Thin Print compared to Citrix Universal
Printer driver.
Is UPD good enough for "driverless" printing ? Any issues with UPD in large
environments ?

With regards,
Ruben Spruijt
