That must have come out wrong, because we haven't solved it yet. FileMon is an education in how Windows processes a logon in itself. The amount of entries that are called from UserInit.exe just for collecting the font file (.fon, .ttf) is amazing. Nothing too obvious from FileMon yet though. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, December 08, 2004 3:30 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: The slowest Start button on the planet - guaranteed Good to see it's solved....can drive you mad... -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Namens Pardee, Michael P. This is one that I did chase after, but I went after dead/broken links. That might help solve the case... If you have 80 servers running, 79 of those can share the load of the 80th one.... Maybe an network connection to a strange server? Had this also with icons being taken from network sources.... Hope this helps Greetings rob -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Namens Greg Reese Verzonden: woensdag 8 december 2004 18:42 Aan: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Onderwerp: [THIN] Re: The slowest Start button on the planet - guaranteed How large is the profile being loaded? I found once i managed to get my profiles down to a couple of meg, "speed to start menu" dramatically improved.
