Have you tried adding an entry to the local Hosts file on the TS server
pointing to the AS400?

Subject: [THIN] Terminal Services and Windows 2000 DNS Server

I'm having a situation evolve at a client site concerning DNS, I think.
The client is setup using two Windows 2000 servers. One being the
File/Print/Exchange/DNS/etc. server and the other being the APP/Terminal
Server. Along with these two servers, my client is running an AS/400.
(By the way, be careful which AS/400 apps you install on your Terminal
Server <--AS/400 Emulation/Interface software doesn't play well with
Terminal Services). From time to time, the terminal server "forgets"
the DNS entry for the AS/400. You can ping by name of the AS/400 on the
DNS server. However, on the TS server you cannot. Then, after some
time has passed, you can start pinging it from the TS server again by
name. The reason this is an issue is that the clients are using the DNS
name to resolve and get to the AS/400. Any ideas why my client's TS
server is dropping name recognition? Thank you.
