That certainly sounds like a different problem than power.

it is the same behavior at all four locations I support. Those =
locations are spread around the state. I even had one at my house for a =
while that did it. We've thought about power problems but we are in =
health care and none of the other electronics have any trouble. None of =
the other brands of terminals have ever had trouble either. Just the =
Wyse terminals.

Generally it starts out with a user typing along working during the day =
and the unit just blinks off. The next day or two it does it again, =
then it starts happening twice a day, then every couple hours. It gets =
worse and worse until they finally call up here in a rage of frustration =
demanding new systems. This is all over the course of a month or a few =
weeks. We keep spares at each location for just such an issue and then =
their bad unit makes its way here. We use a laplink cable to force a =
re-flash of the ROM image and then the unit is fine. Re-flashing with =
the software tools will sometimes do the trick but usually not. Doing =
it via a cable directly always works. Sometimes we never get a unit =
back after that, sometimes we see it a month later for the same thing.

Have you ever looked into the building power? I was at a company one =
time
that had a bad transformer on a pole out back. Computer monitors kept =
going
bad all the time until we figured out the power wasn't clean. Once the
transformer was replaced, problems went away - although slowly because
damage had been done.

it's the strangest thing with Wyse. Either people have nothing but =3D
problems with them (like me) or they never have problems with them. It's =
=3D
all or nothing. Out of 120 units, I still have at least 2 a week turn =
=3D
up dead.

We have about 2700 wyse 3320's in the field. They work fine. We are
currenting evaluating the 3125's. They run just fine. Now Rapport is a
whole other issue........

We are using Wyse WT3360SE terminals and have not had any major issues =
=3D
with
them. When we first implemented them they were frequently getting =3D
cleared.
Apparently if you hold the g key down while powering them on it clears =
=3D
the
config. Working like a charm now. :)

Links for all the different manufacturers are half way down the page at
http://thethin.net/links.cfm

You might want to look at the ChipPc OpTC if all you need is ICA

Does anyone have any experience with Terminals other than Wyse? We've =
=3D
had a
high rate of failure of the Wyse units (various models in the 3000 =3D
series).
I just ordered a 3125 to evaluate, but I'm more interested in trying =3D
another
manufacturer. We strictly use ICA, so we don't need alot of other
emulations or built-in browsers etc. Any recommendations would be
appreciated.
