They are using roaming profiles. They have 15 servers so local profiles are
out. The problem with allowing
roaming profiles to be cached is the amount of disk space required. So there
is a performance penalty to
copy the profile down from the share. If this case I think the bigger
penalty is being caused by the policies.
Flex Profiles are another option if they are willing to spend the time to
set those up.

Are you using roaming profiles? Have you considered the time it takes to
copy them down to the server?

Subject: [THIN] Slow logon performance
I have a client that is experiencing slow logon performance. I have worked
with them to limit the size of the profile,
However, I think they are paying the performance penalty because they have
an unusually large number of GPO's
linked to the Terminal Server OU and the large number of Citrix policies.
They have GPO's and Citrix policies for
each site, 30 or more. The only way I see to fix this is to limit the number
of policies. Also, is there a Microsoft
Hot fix for logon performance for Windows 2003 SP2 (not R2)? There was one
for Windows 2000.
Thanks,
Mike
