Some of that could depend on the how you set up folder re-direction.
Like one of the options is to copy the current contents of the file. If
you don't do this or you do this with a new user with empty files you
should be solid. I haven't had any slowness with folder re-dir.

FYI,
I upgraded to FR2 last night and chaged my group policy to redirect the
folders to a share on the file server.  When the users started to log in
the logon process was taking a long time.  I troubleshooted the slow
logon
problems to this folder redirection.  After I moved the folder
redirection
to the local server it fixed the issue with the slow logons.
