We are seeing at least two issues - one is generic and related to an
update to the scan engine that occurred around the beginning of July.
Trend seem to be saying this issue is specific to Terminal servers
details are available here ...
http://esupport.trendmicro.com.au/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=EN-103560
2&id=EN-1035602
I'm not so sure is is specific to TS as we are seeing performance
problems across the board with boxes running Trend products. We we in
the process of updating all servers from Server Protect to Office Scan
8.0 and all workstations from 7.3 top 8.0 when this started. At this
stage 3/4 of out production TS and one file/print server are still
running Server Protect - all the TS are having problems as outlined in
the above Trend support doc - the file/print server is quite low use so
it is a bit hard to be certain - but it does seem "sluggish" at present.
There is a further issue with the listener process in Office Scan 8
outlined here ...
http://esupport.trendmicro.com.au/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=EN-103553
2&id=EN-1035532
This seems to be both a memory leak (on TS you soon end up with
"Insufficient system resource" errors) and a processor hog. We run
Thread master on our TS but on other servers we are seeing the
processors shoot up to 100% when the listener is running - stop the
listener and the processor soon drops back to more acceptable levels.
It could be we are also seeing the issue outlined here
http://esupport.trendmicro.com.au/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=EN-103553
1&id=EN-1035531
A bit hard to tell as this doc give no indication of what "Issues" this
problem causes.
At the moment I'm trying to get these two hot fixes to see if the
resolve our performance problems.

Hmmm- historically Trend has been the best for SBC..... are there
widespread issues, is this changing?

Trend had me go back to the previous engine.
I've emailed them about the status of the case and they've been ignoring
me. I am getting ready to call them back.
I am really disappointed with their support!
Thinking of switching to Macaffe or Norton. Do they work well on
Citrix servers?

Was just wondering if Trend has already fixed this issue and
what everybody is doing at the moment to keep running.
