Others may have a different experience but, in modern servers, I have never seen a XenApp server starved for processor. But I do like having the biggest, baddest @$$ servers my customer's money can buy! :) I would _guess_ that a future version of XenApp _may_ use less processor because of _potential_ changes to the core of the product. But that is just a WAG on my part. :) Webster > -----Original Message----- > From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On > To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [THIN] Re: Server spec's > > You think it’s a bad idea ? > > Also trying to spec the servers > > HP DL 360 G6 or G7 > > G6 supports 4 quad core processors and G7 supports 2 quad or 6 cores > > Would the G7 with two 6 core processors be fine with 12 GB of ram going > forward. > > Or should I spec 4 by 4 cores on a G6 with 12 GB ? as these would match the > two most powerful servers we have in the farm? > > As I say need to future proof for upgrades to XenApp 6 on 2008 next year > some time. > > -----Original Message----- > From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On > Behalf Of webster@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [THIN] Re: Server spec's > > I personally think that XenApp 5 on Server 2008 is the ugly red-headed step- > child of the XenApp family tree.
