Hi Dave,

Okay. Let's try something.

Log on to the console and run up taskmanager with a low update rate. Leasev
the session logged in. When you get a server lockup, what do you see?

If you get a copy of the latest version of remote task manager at
http://www.ntutility.com/rtm, this will at least let you see what has gone
on prior to the hang. May also let you reboot the server if things haven't
locked up completely.

Yes, this was done as part of our old TSE installation, which was running
for about 3 years without any major problems.  And yes, I made the same
registry changes on the new TSE machines (if nothing else, just for
consistency).

Keeping my head is the easy part.  I'm somewhat calm, all things
considered...keeping my job is what I'm really worried about!  

With all of the support from this awesome group, I'm sure I'll get this
problem fixed -- it's just a matter of time.

Thanks, Jay...I had heard about that as well, so I didn't install the
OpenManage client on these machines...

Thanks for the suggestion, though...

At least the worst that can happen is getting fired...it's not like I'm
going to get beheaded or anything... ;-)

Do you run Dell OpenManager?  The original version of Dell OpenManage has
some problems that affected the CMC.  Newer version of Dell OpenManage fixes
that problem as I have heard.  I believe the older versions had a conflict
with the Dell Assistant Web Page that was in conflict with the Data Store
refresh of the CMC.  Contact Dell to make find out for sure if this is
potentially your problem.  

I am only basing this on some experiences that we experienced and found out
that this was a known bug in Dell's Management software.

I've never seen this one before in 6 years working with Citrix products,
perhaps someone out there can help:

Hardware:       2 new Dell 1650 PowerEdge Servers
                Dual 1.2 Ghz processors
                2 Gig RAM
                Intel Pro NICs (2) teamed copper gigabit

Software:       Microsoft NT4 Terminal Server Edition, SP6a
                MetaFrame XP 1.0 Service Pack 1 / FR1

Problem:        The system is fine and stable for hours on end, even under a
moderately heavy load (9 hours, 18+ users concurrent).  Then, all of a
sudden everything just stops -- server can be pinged, and mouse movements
allowed on the console, but nothing else.  All sessions refuse to screen
paint and lock up.  The only way to get the server out of this mode is to
power it off and power it on.

Solutions tried:        

- Removed all printer port monitors
- Recreated local host cache
- Reinstalled MetaFrame XP, FR1, Hotfixes 1, 2, 8, 11, 12, 16.
- Reinstalled SP6a for TSE
- Re-created ICA connection in Connection Config Application
- Set Priority on the teamed NICs
- Updated drivers for NICs
- Tried removing NICs from team and running with a single NIC active (tried
both NICs)
- Tried to hard-code NIC speeds and duplexes to avoid autosensing (can't do
it -- Intel PRO software doesn't allow hard-coding of gigabit...autosense
only...allows hardcoding of 10/100 at full/half, just nothing gigabit)

Has ANYONE seen anything like this before?  I'm preparing myself for the
infamous pinkslip...

Any suggestions welcomed, on or off list.
