I have to agree, I think that Rick's posts over the years have been perhaps
the single greatest source of accurate and useful information, he definitely
deserve recognition..

One name that is missing is Rick Mack.
It is a shame that his name isnt out there to a wider audience as he
definately knows his onions.
I have learned more from Rick's posts in this forum over the last few years
than anyone else apart from Ron Oglesby(where he?).
Have a read of some of his postings and you will know what i mean.
It must be all the Australus they eat down under

Indeed, the "award" is just a small extra pat on the back for those devote
so much of (their) free time into the community. Even more so, I was just
being curious about what you guys think on who deserves that pat on the
back.

I agree it is nothing about ego, but all about respect. and the use and
value of the imput given. I do not imply any ranking if I had more votes,
Jim, Brian, Ron, and the three or four thousand others on the list would
have been included but I was only given one. and it is a democracy (I hope).
I therefore chose on the basis of who and what has given me the most help in
the past.
Have a good New Year, to one and all, ( even if by your calander it is not
yet new year)

Hahaha. Tom, thank you very much but I don't think there should be a ranking
to valuable people. We are help in ways we can and we all help each other
when we can. I would have to say that there are about 20 to 30 different
people on this list that have helped me in some way and many that do it
everyday! It is just so awesome to be part of a community that helps each
other for no other reason that to help each other. It is not about money
or fame or some silly award, it is about helping someone solve a problem!
We have all checked our ego at the door! I love it!!!
On the MIAB front, I've been VERY busy the past month on MIAB4.0. I must
admit I got a bit behind as my work has just not permitted me the time it
takes to do this and do it well. But, this has changed! I'm committed to a
2-1-06 release of MIAB 4.0 w/ an updated Tuning Tips section and much more.
I've very happy with what I have put together and I still have a lot of work
to do but I WILL have it done soon. That I promise.
Anyhoo, Happy New Year Everyone!

My vote goes to Dougie Brown for his help to the community and MIAB, one of
the most valuable free resources available

Hi THIN people,
"I would like to introduce the Server Based Computing MVP (Most Valuable
"Player") As part of running of Thincomputing.net
<http://thincomputing.net/> , I see a LOT of Server Based Computing content,
ranging from websites to seminars to mailing lists. All this content
together forms the Server Based Computing community for me. This community
is run by people whose heart really lies with Server Based Computing. Some
of these people are (in no particular order):
Brian Madden, Doug Brown, Jim Kenzig, Jeroen van de Kamp and many, many
more.
I've been so bold as to create a Server Based Computing's MVP of 2005 poll.
It would be great if you would cast your own vote on who should be the MVP
of Server Based Computing for this year (2005)!
Cast your vote here: http://www.thincomputing.net
<http://www.thincomputing.net/> (top right).
Thank you in advance for your vote. Your input is crucial!
Have a happy new year!
