[THIN] Re: Remote Desktop Web Connection

I didn't say that's the way I do it or the way I recommend doing it, but
with most modern firewalls, that's all that you should NEED to do to
make it work. We can banter back and forth about the issues that
opening RDP causes and the proper ways to secure it, but that's for
another topic, eh.

If you're going to do that for a bank, I highly recommend that you
specify a source IP address.

It should only require inbound 3389/TCP. I do this on Watchguard and
Cisco firewalls as well.

Open 3389 inbound. If it doesn't work, then enable outbound as well. It
works inbound only on our fw configuration.

To access an internal machine from outside the network using Remote
Desktop Web Connection, does 3389 have to be open TO the firewall or
just FROM the firewall to the remote desktop? I would assume that
everything rides over HTTP (80), but is this correct?
