[THIN] Re: Redirecting Cookies & Favorites

"My Documents" will accept a drive letter. In group policy it utilizes
the client side extensions as a built-in and supported feature for
redirection. Favorites and Cookies do not have any built in support that
will allow for this to my knowledge.

 

If anyone has found a way to do this I would be highly interested as it
would be so easy to configure a drive letter rather than a separate UNC
for each OU.  Of course one can always get around this by centralizing
all one data but in my current case that is not possible.

I have a logon script that writes...

        HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders\Personal    O:\My Documents    REG_SZ

        and..

        
         HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders\Personal    O:\My Documents    REG_SZ

         

Which works great to hardwire my user's My Documents to their 'O:'
drive.

Correct me if I am wrong but  note that you must use a UNC path for this
work...I do believe. I have in the past tried using a drive letter with
no luck.

I just created a custom .adm file to do the favorites...

It looks like this:
