Always evaluate a range of devices and ensure you test the vendors
deployment software as well.
Check to see whether there is a License cost after you reach a certain
number of devices.
We also use the Wyse v90s and have been happy with them until fairly
recently.
The price of the V90 plus the Rapport License cost is making a managed PC
environment look atractive again.(plus Rapport gets on my t*ts)
Windows Fundamentals has been working well in our environment.
We have been looking at other vendor Embedded XP or Linux devices for
comparisons.
The best of the bunch so far has been the Igel devices which are pretty
good. The partition without the write filter enables users to change
settings without us piddling about disabling the write filter / restarting /
enabling the write filter/ restarting.
The Igel Software is free and works. The Embedded XP images are compressed
and work well when deploying over the slower remote parts of the network.
After all that, i love the speed of the Blazers / S10s ... the only downside
is there is no web browser built in as we use Web Interface extensively.
Regards
M
