SmartStart 5.3 is old, but it belongs to the correct generation of SmartS=
tarts that correspond to the first generation of DL380s. So the best vers=
ion of SmartStart to use is probably 5.5. 5.3 is not bad. I don't think t=
hat you'll get anywhere with later versions of SmartStart. (6.x will NOT =
work)
Given that Compaq tend to work quite closely with Microsoft, installing i=
t straight from the CD is a good idea. Then apply the SupportPack for Win=
dows 2003.
Do make sure the OS is set to Windows in the BIOS, otherwise the APIC mod=
e could be wrong and it won't work in Multi Proc.

Have you tried installing it without SmartStart? Manually configure the =3D
hard
drive and boot from the 2003 CD. You never know.....

have right now. I was searching compaq yesterday to find a newer =3D3D

download but couldn't find it.
