[THIN] Re: Published App - Session not closing

That tool wasn't all that fancy, so I re-created it from scratch today.
This time I made it work for all Microsoft OS's. It is available
FREE-of-charge on my web site (although you do have to look at the site
while you are there!). Go to the home page and click on Products. It's the
second one on the list.

To use, you take the command you normally publish, and pre-pend it with
"LaunchIt.exe". When the command completes, LaunchIt will seek-and-destroy
any child processes (and their off-spring) left behind. If you want, you
can add a "/v" option (as in "LaunchIt.exe /v outlook.exe") and if it finds
any it will prompt the user for an OK to kill.

Back when I worked for Softricity, I wrote a small tool that was a launcher
to take care of these things. You publish the launcher with the name/args
of the real program (outlook.exe in your case). When the main program
(outlook) shuts down, launcher kills off any hanging children. It was 2K
only (not NT). They might give it to you if you ask real nice...

also if you installed MSN messenger on ther you will see the Messnger
ICON in the system try of the client. When it closes check out the
user's session in the CMC, right click and goto properties and look at
the processes that it has open. That will start you off on the right
foot.

Normally this means there is another application that (such as
ddhelp.exe) =3D
that is being opened with Outlook. The other application doesn't close
whe=3D
n Outlook closes. There are a few that will always be open, but just
watch=3D
 the processes for a user and see what shows up. If you know of an
applica=3D
tion that should close with Outlook, try Terminating the process and see
if=3D
 it logs the user off.

Hope this helps.

All,

Something that "must" be simple. We are publishing Outlook as a
published app and when the user Exits, the background doesn't close, and
the only way to close the Citrix session is to click on the "X", which
just disconnects it. =3D3D20

There must be something simple to close the session appropriately, but
I'm lost. Before this, we've only published desktops.

Thanks,
