[THIN] Re: Printing Redirection Problem

Well the article was a bit confusing, but I think I?ve deciphered it.

1. Create the two registry values mentioned
2. Create a .inf file based on the template in the article but modified for
the proper drivers
3. Put the new .inf file in the C:\winnt\inf folder

Is this correct? I haven?t tested it yet with the problem printer but I?ll
be doing it in the next hour or so. I just wanted to make sure I read it
correctly. Thanks!!

Agreed
That MS support Article covers a lot of the issues and has been heavily
updated since the orginal version.. hence the reason for pasting it.

It can be done like that? or you could point it to the wtsuprn.inf?..

Don?t edit the NTPRINT.INF. not a good practice. Also can cause other
errors.

Aliasing with Win2k TS only requires modification of Ntprint.inf

By the way, will this file (i.e., Wtsuprn.txt) work with only W2k TS? Or
does Citrix have to be installed also? Thanks.

Straight up win2k or Win2k with Citrix.

Also even if youloaded the driver did you edit the mapping file?

Subject: [THIN] Printing Redirection Problem

Hello:

I have a Brother HL-1440 printer using an HP LaserJet IIP driver (which is
what I need according to Brother tech support on a Terminal Server).
However, when the user logs on, a session is not created in the printers
folder. E.g., in the printers folder, when a user logs on, I?m expecting to
see something like this: ?Brother HL-1440/Computer_Name/Session 9?.
However, when the user logs on, the session is not created.

I?m running W2k with SP-4. Does anyone have any idea what?s going on?
Thanks.

Dean
