Had something similar today.
Turned out to be a client printer that had a failed print job - this was =
stopping the spooler service everythime it was restarted. Could try =
there?
It was difficult as you had to be back into the printers folder quick, =
and delete the print job before the spooler stopped. In the end I =
deleted the client printer... but it tooks ages to delete!

We are Windows 2003 with Citrix XPa FR3. On one server, you can start =
the
spooler service but then it stops when you exit out of the computer
management console. The event log shows that it tries to start it 5 =
times
then it fails.
