Yes, the dl360s use the NetExtreme II . I was directed to http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netxtremeii.php to get RIS/ADS drivers but they didn't give much joy either. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Malcolm Bruton Sent: 04 February 2008 10:32 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: PXE Boot to ADS/WDS for Compaq G5s Andrew We use the Broadcom drivers from the Broadcom site with BL465's and 385G2 which I think is the same Nic as the 360 G5's We however are using a DOS boot disk and then doing a Widows unattended build. Using driver NetExtreme 10.03 and NetExtreme II 3.4.2 (we build all HP servers using one of those two) I think the G5 will be using the NetExtreme II driver. We had to enter the Device ID's for each type of Card as well for DOS and it's either 16AA or 164C for the 465's and 385 G2 which As I've said I'm sure is the same card as the 360 G5 Malcolm -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andrew Wood Sent: 04 February 2008 09:30 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: PXE Boot to ADS/WDS for Compaq G5s Apologies Jez, my original request was indeed useless information wise unless you were sat having coffee with me this morning and knew what it was I was talking about, in which case its unlikely you'd know either, because you didn't then. So, scratch that last one, I'll try again: Has anyone been able to successfully boot an HP Proliant DL360 G5 to an ADS/WDS build? Every driver I try comes up with a RAMDISK error - in the event log on the ADS server says that the driver is incorrect. So far I've used the 10.62 version, and the 10.42 Broadcom drivers. I've also tried the Intel driver (9.12) and the NC multifunction driver (v3.7.23). Server BIOS is at the most recent revision. I'd seen an article that suggests using specific a Broadcom II driver from their web site, but I've had no joy with that either. Depending on the server model, you may well find the same technology in servers that don't carry a "G5" label... Check and double-check firmware and drivers. You need to be 100% certain that you're usign the latest, as there has been the odd issue with certain NIC drivers that have been fixed recently, and you may have hit one of them.
