Hi Chad,

Just make sure you look out for the IMA Encryption feature in 40/45 mixed
environments.

So all your farm server are 4.5 then or you have something still at 4.0 in
this test farm?

We put up PS 4.0 and upgraded to 4.5 as soon as it was released.

This is a "test" environment, which will eventually become live.

We have a Windows 2003 32-bit server as our Data Collector, and a 2003
64-bit server as the PS 4.5 application server. We will be adding 5 more
W2K3 64-bit servers to this farm within the next couple weeks.

Works well.

Anyone been running a mixed farm with PS4.0 and PS4.5? I need to expand
but want to try x64. Going to add another Dell PE1955 blade with 8 gigs of
RAM and run 64bit OS/Citrix. While I'm doing this, I figured I may as well
try out PS4.5.

I know I need to upgrade licensing and the features of configuration
logging/IMA encryption won't be supported in a mixed farm. I also need to
use ASC 4.5 to discover the PS4.5 server and manage it via ASC. That
seems to be all the Admin guide mentions.

What I'm not sure about is issue I'll have with a mixed 32bit and 64bit
farm and OS. Anyone doing this? If all goes well with 64bit and PS4.5,
I'd probably work on migrating the rest of the farm servers to 64bit with
PS4.5, hopefully being able to cut down on some of the hardware.
