Yes, I set up office on TS servers with the ORK install wizard all the time and use it to autocreate new outlook profiles for users that don't have it already setup. With office 2000 specifically, if you were installing it to a TS server with the custom installation wizard you're supposed to using the termsrv.mst from the ORK. http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/two/30t3_1.htm Newer versions of office (xp +) recognize a TS environment during the installation process. I am aware of the Profgen. I was just hoping to do this with just Custom Install Wizard from Office ResourceKit. I've done it on standard Win2000/XP operating systems and it works beautifully. So it must be a terminal server specific issue that doesn't allow Outlook to automatically generate user exchange profile first time they run Outlook. I did hear something along the lines of the Transformer file for terminals servers containing NOUSERNAME command. maybe this is where the issue is. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Foote, Eric Sent: 09 December 2004 20:07 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Outlook/Win2000 Terminal Server Take a look at profgen in the Microsoft KB. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Ibrahim, Mustafa Sent: Thursday, December 09, 2004 2:45 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Outlook/Win2000 Terminal Server Hi all, I've created an Admin install of office2000. Then edited the Terminal server Transformer file to create custom install of Outlook 2000. Basically what I was hoping to happen was to have Outlook automatically generate user Exchange profile based on %username%, and create PST in a specified location. However, Office 2000 installs perfectly fine on Win2000 Term server, but Outlook does not automatically generate the Exchange Outlook Profile when the user runs Outlook for the first time. I know this procedure works fine on the standard Windows XP/2000 systems as I've already created similar custom install for our desktop systems. Any input is much appreciated.
