*"To my knowledge there is no Citrix/WTS box involved in this type of
connection, right?"*

Correct.

But for the record since there appears to be some confusion out there,
Cached mode is disabled by default as an option when outlook 2003+ is
installed to TS servers (it was designed by MS this way).

I've seen cached mode files get corrupted before which stopped any further
cache syncing. You could try clearing out all of the *.ost files at the
client side, and test again. But if you're purging their cache, it's best to
have them rebuilt it while they are connect on your LAN.

The default location for a user's *.ost files (cached mode files) =
c:\documents and settings\%userprofile%\local settings\application
data\microsoft\outlook...

Our user's run cached mode outlook while connected to our CAG with only one
problem. There is always a longer delay for outlook to connect to the
exchange server when a user is remote and in cached mode. If they are not in
cached mode, they appear to connect immediately.
