[THIN] Re: Outlook 2003

I didn't think cache mode could even be enabled on Terminal Services.
Thought that was a fat client only piece.

Any chance you are dropping packets? I have found that to be the case at
times when things like a ping gives us pretty good results, but a net view
done over and over again bring back inconsistent results. Usually nailing
up speed and duplex at both ends (server, switch) takes care of it for us.

After that, how about name resolution. Do you find any difference between
telling Outlook that the mailserver is SERVERNAME -vs- the fqdn
SERVERNAME.WHOEVER.COM. Know what I mean?

Subject: [THIN] Outlook 2003

I am running Office 2003 on a Win2k3 server with MPS 3.0 (published desktop
to Sun Ray 150's) and having a problem with Outlook. The problem is that
everytime a user launches Outlook it will hesitate for about 20 - 30
seconds. It appears that it is trying to synch with the Exchange Server
(Exchange 2000). Is there a best practice with configuring Outlook 2003? It
happens both from an ICA session and RDP regardless of hardware client (fat
or thin) but not from a desktop that has Outlook installed locally. Any help
would be appreciated!

Thanks,
