You can also set up a custom.prf for all of your users and hardcode the
default autosignature in there

I tried this to no avail. Anyone else?

Right now I can set up my system to automatically copy the signature.rtf
from the user's share folder into s:\documents and
settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures. When the
user goes into Tools\Options\Mail Format\Signature Picker, <NONE> is the
default Signature but the signature.rtf shows up from the drop down
menu.

Any ideas?

Haven't done this myself but have you had a look at
HKU\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\General\Signatures and changing
this to something like H:\Signatures, or whatever your home location is.
If this works, and I think it should, you can then set it as a policy
for all users. You would then need to set a signatures folder for all
users in the home directory - mmmmmmm. It would then be preferable if
users couldn't see it, delete it or rename it.

HTH.

Alan.

Ok,

Now I can run a script to look in the user's network drive and copy it
to %systemdrive%\documents and settings\%userprofile%\application
data\microsoft\signatures every time a user launches outlook.

Minor problem remains. I still have to go into Tools\Options\Mail
Format\Signature Picker to choose the Signature that I copied into the
directory because the Signature Picker defaults to <none> not the one
sig file I copied there.

Is there a way to get Outlook to look for a default signature file to
use? For example, can I put an entry in the registry or profile or
somewhere to always look for a file named signature.rtf or something
like that?

Brian,=20

Default location for this is %systemdrive%\documents and
settings\%userprofile%\application data\microsoft\signatures

Which will of course be deleted on every log off for users, which is why
you have the problem.=20

I'm not aware of any group policy support for this, your best bet will
probably be in trying to copy these signature settings into the user
profiles on login.=20

Or you can always give your users roaming profiles so that they can
store this kind of stuff.=20

I am able to create a Signature and it works fine. When I log out and
log back in, the signature is no longer there. I'm guessing that it's
getting saved to my temporary local profile and then deleted when I log
out. Is there a way to redirect this to a user folder that is mapped
upon login?

Anybody know what file the signature is saved in?

What's your problem with the autosignatures? Are you finding that the
signature option is not available when users attempt to send e-mail?

If your users outlook e-mail format is HTML, the signature option is not
available, change it to Rich text or plain text, and it should be there.
Off hand, I'm not sure of a way to change this for all users, but it
might be scriptable.=3D20

Has anyone successfully implemented Outlook 2k with autosignatures?

We have temporary local profiles and we map the users to a network share
point \\servername\users\%username%

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!
