Thanks Jim, Im not using autocreated client printers here. Ive got them =
disabled for management reasons.

The problem is here is that the printers are created and fully =
functional to all applications like wordpad, Financials, Telnet client =
etc but MS office app print jobs disappear or just error out on the =
session.

I have the CMC configured to pull down the printers from the print =
server and have specific printers created for specific groups. These =
create fine and work in all apps reliably apart from MS office.

Ive even tried to disconnect the printer and manually reconnect the =
printer in side the client session and I still get the problem.

Are we on the same wave length here?

9 times out of ten this happens because you do not have the proper =
printer
name aliased in the CMC.
For example. If a user has an HP LaserJet 1200 it is not enough to have =
the
driver loaded on the server.
You must have an alias to the proper name. If the driver on the server =
gets
installed with a name such as HP Laser 1200 you must map the name of =
the
printer on the server to the name on the Client.
HP Laser 1200 =3D HP LaserJet 1200 for example.
There is some great info on printing problems at
http://www.printingsupport.com That might help you also track down some =
of
your problems.

JK

Subject: [THIN] Office 2k printing issues on Terminal servers

Ive got a client who is running Office 2k on their Citrix server farm.

All is well appart from printing.

When a user tries to print a document they 90% of the time either have =
=3D
the print jobs disapear into thin air, or they will get an error message =
=3D
on their Citrix session stating the cuurent printer is unavailable.

This problem appears not to be selective on the type of printer that =3D
causes the problem. Some users it will be a standard HP printer others =
=3D
it will be a multifunction copier not working.

This problem only occurs in MS Office applications.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Thanks,
