Email monitoring is a very sticky thing, and its very easy to end up on the
wrong end of a law suit.  The best advice is 
        1> Clear everything through HR, its their job to know what's legal
and what's not, 
        2> Get EVERYTHING in writing, even HR's advice, because everyone
else can claim "I didn't say/authorize/know-anything about that..", but its
YOUR login-ID on all the audit files & permission lists.

But isn't all e-mail produced by a company's employees the intellectual
property of the company and not the individual?
