We've been running the Exchange solution for 6 months now, about 50
users, in the UK. Works very nicely, very simple for end users. Can't
compare to BES I'm afraid.

Subject: [THIN] Re: OT:Exchange Active Sync Push
A couple guys I know do it. The originaly implementation was not true
push technology. Exchange sent an SMS to the phone, the phone then went
and pulled the message from Exchange. MS has changed that fairly
recently to a true push of the e-mail.
They support remote kill of the device and apparently there is some
policy enforcement of what users can do/install on the handhelds.
There's A LOT someone can do to a WM5 device compared to a BB as an end
user, and that scares me. If Exchange doesn't provide methods to lock
down a WM5 device in EVERY aspect, it could be a IT nightmare.
I don't know much about the endpoint security, but my guess is
Blackberry is at least 1 generation ahead, maybe more. That's important
to some people, and not to others.
For the few guys who have does heavy Blackberry Enterprise use, and also
support Exchange 2003 SP3 w/push, they all say the Blackberry solution
is still much more envolved and better suited for larger deployment,
which makes sense, as they've been doing it much longer, and MS still
has to learn as they go.

Hi All
I am about to upgrade/deploy Ex2k3 SP2 (currently running win2K ex2k).
One of the features I want to take advantage of is the Microsoft
Exchange Mobile Email Solution with "Push" technology. I am planning on
using "Windows Mobile 5" on I-mate JAMin devices.
I am doing this in preference to a blackberry solution. Has anybody
deployed this successfully in Australia. I am interested in how well it
has gone. Any feedback as to comparisons with BlackBerry Solutions. Has
anybody shifted from BlackBerry to Exchange Active Sync.
My telstra dealer is giving me 150mb per month GPRS data at a good rate.
I am hoping that is enough.
My concern is that I will deploy this and not have much support .
