This is true. But if I go to my hotmail.com account, and send them email.
They get it. How can this be. It makes NO sense at all.

Michael,

Because no mx exists.

Ok. I have reverse dns setup for my mail server at vdimail.com. I try
sending to the email address at htdlaw.com and it still will not go. My
mail goes through trend viruswall so I can see it on the screen when it goes
through. Normally it will process the mail then report message forwarded to
whatever server at whatever domain, but with this one it just processes the
message but doesn't send it. If you look in the queued message file, it
gives a message about unknown domain or address. It CAN'T find an mx record
for the domain. This is really driving me nuts. Any other suggestions?

OK, like I said, first thing is to have your ISP delegate the
in-addr.arpa
space for your IP block to your ns's. After that, creating a ptr is
pretty
easy in win2k, if memory serves me correctly (I us BIND for DNS, which
is
all config file based, but I have at least one machine set up with
Win2K's
DNs if you need a hand there.
