[THIN] Re: OT - product options for defaulting workstation OS configs?

Deepfreeze is really good but Microsoft has released a shared computing
toolkit called steadystae designed for classrooms and libraries etc that
does similar stuff. I have used both and they are pretty robust. The
Microsoft one is free (or at least it was). Deepfreeze is not free but it
is not very expensive.

I'm looking for software / hardware product options for having a windows
OS that returns itself to your specified config on reboot or at a specific
time of day.

The particular scenario we're looking to cover would be an otherwise very
locked down system setup, but the application needed to run requires the
user to be a local administrator. In the off chance that a user on one of
these systems were to get some other software installed, or they were able
to screw around with the setup; we'd like that particular windows OS to boot
back into the config which we set it up to work under (thereby removing any
and all user performed installations and changes to it).

I'm a long time thin list lurker ;), and I recall a few discussions in
the past about some products that may fit our needs, but I'm just not
stumbling across any in my searches right now.

The OS's we'd like to support would be windows XP and the new vista lines
if possible.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
