[THIN] Re: OT: email tracing

Sometimes, but it is easily spoofed. Open the message in question, and go
to View, the select Options. It will show you the message info. For
example, this message came from: Received: from vdiexch1.vdimail.com
(unknown [216.173.230.10]). It doesn't totally tell you where it came from,
but it is a step in the right direction. From there you may be able to deal
with an ISP or Corporate IT department depending on the origin.

Subject: [THIN] OT: email tracing

A client recieved an email from someone outside there company. This email
was a threat and sounded very serious. They are wanting to trace the email
and try and find out who sent it? Is there a way to do this, or companies
that do this sort of thing? I recommended calling the authorities but they
still want to know if there is someone that can do traces on emails?

Thanks,

Michael Boggan
