Yeah I mean maybe even go with thinlists. We could tie it into VMguru.com Ron Oglesby Director of Technical Architecture RapidApp, Chicago Office: 312 372 7188 Mobile: 815 325 7618 email: roglesby@xxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Chris Fraser Sent: Sunday, December 12, 2004 3:50 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: OT: VMWare ESX v2.5 is released Citrix has their online forums which are sometimes useful but I usually find better solutions in the THIN archives. .If we can produce a Virtualization list that is anywhere even close to the great resource the THIN list is, then I would be delighted. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ron Oglesby Sent: Sunday, December 12, 2004 1:40 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: OT: VMWare ESX v2.5 is released ThinFan's right (good job) Obviously a lot of VMware users out here. BTW, I don't mind the community but anyone on this list find it useful to have a list like this for VMware? I mean I just like the e-mail use better than the online forum. Note: Using the tar archive, upgrading directly from releases prior to ESX 2.0 is not supported. Reboot into linux. /sbin/reboot Log in as root. Make a directory named download (or use another name of your choice.) This directory must be accessible to the service console on the server you want to upgrade. Save the file esx-2.5.0-11343-upgrade.tar.gz to this directory. Change to the download directory. Extract the contents of the file. tar zxf esx-2.5.0-11343-upgrade.tar.gz Change to the directory esx-2.5.0-10771-upgrade.tar. Run the upgrade script. ./upgrade.pl You see various messages about the upgrade process. When prompted, reboot the system. When the system reboots, you are finished upgrading VMware ESX Server.
