Jim,
I finally got some time to look at the servers again. Which permissions
are you talking about? I compared the "User Rights Assignment" using the
local group policy snap-in from my production network (no SP) to the SP2
DCs in the lab. Both match. Can you point me in the direction of which
permissions or which tool you used to correct them? Maybe I am looking at
the wrong permissions with the wrong tool.

Would be the same thing if you did a migration of your accounts though. As
I understand it they are system accounts in NT/2000 that get locked down
from when you apply SP2 and the permissions need to be changed on them in
order for stuff to work again.

Not a 2000 domain. We moved from an NT4 domain to W2K3 domain.

If it was a domain converted from windows 2000 there is one system user
account that has the permissions knocked out when you install SP2 that is
in 2000 but not 2003. We just had this problem. It was a pain in the A
to
figure it out because even removing sp2 the problem stayed.
Call MS about this they should know what I am talking about and be able
to
talk you through fixing the botched account permissions.

Has anyone applied W2K3 SP2 to a DC yet? I applied it on a lab DC and
after rebooting, the Netlogon service comes up in a paused state. I can
start the service and everything runs fine. No matter how many times I
reboot, the service comes up paused. Any ideas why? I found an MS KB
saying that there had to be at least 512MB free disk space..There's 13GB
free on that C: partition.
