We've had three Dell SANs for a while here, and they have all been unstable,
complex to maintain and troubleshoot. They just haven't performed as
advertised. We've had it with them and are currently migrating to Sharks.
For the record, the Dell enclosures are fine, but the bridges and switches
have given us fits!

Hi there all,
Not really thin related, but with all the enterprise grade expertise
on the list I thought I would throw it out there.
I am building a small SAN 'on the cheap' and am looking for
suggestions on storage enclosures.
I would love to install an IBM Shark or FastT system but I'm still
waiting for that dumptruck load of cash to be delivered to the office
:) <insert joke about relative value of canadian currency here>
What I am looking for is a Fibre Channel connected enclosure with 6-8
ATA/100 or ATA/133 drives. I would also consider SCSI connected
enclosures but I don't want to fork out the big $ for 800-1000 MB of
SCSI disk.
Any suggestions? Experiences either way? Am I trying to build the
impossible?
Thanks and back to your regularly scheduled THIN list.
