[THIN] Re: OT - Remote Control your farm via PDA

Timely topic. We're actually in the process of testing out the Verizon,
XV6700 for this exact purpose:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=2200

We have load balenced ACG's tied in with RSA for 2 factor auth, and once we
sorted out some issues with the SSL connections from these phones we were
able to get logged in an running our published apps without any big
problems.

Applications such as a published MMC of AD users and computers, will show up
just fine and scale pretty well on the little phone screens. That we've seen
so far, some applications such as the Virtual Infrastructure client (which
has it's own login screen) ended up sizing themselves so that we couldn't
actually interact with the login prompts. We're thinking about defining a
seperate set of published applications just for remote phone administration.

Anyone have any tips on custom sizing apps for display on phone screens? :)

Cheers,

Lan

What about a PDA with CTX client...and publish an application such as

Hi Angela,

We looked at this app "Remote Admin"

http://www.idokorro.com/products/ma-features.shtml

It offers a free trial. We liked it but decided we couldn't afford it...

Pfft... or at least he who holds the purse strings made that
decision....

Jaime

Does anyone out there do anything funky for remote support such as using
a
PDA to remote control your Citrix servers?

Does such a thing exist and is it usable?

A PDA Phone that could do this would be so much better than lugging a
laptop
on weekends (obviously size may be an issue but portability would be
great)..

Thanks
Angela
