OK Folks...Some of you may know by now that I am the hapless, luckless,
schmuck who got stuck maintaining (I use the word 'maintaining' loosely)
our SNA infrastructure. I got sent to a 4 day class in which every feature
of Microsoft SNA server was covered. Too bad since we only use 5% of it.
Anyway, everything in the class went flawlessly. Time to troubleshoot, no
problem. Just run a trace, run link status, etc. Yeah right.

I tried to migrate the existing setup onto some newer servers. These
server are only slightly out of warranty (beats 3yrs our of warranty) and
run ESCON instead of Bus&Tag. Basically, it is like saying 100Mbps vs
10Mbps.

Anyway, all my tests during the last few weeks worked well. Of course
implementation has to fail. Check the event log and I see:

SnaBase failed to start for the following reason: The command
completed successfully.

Leave it to Microsoft to error out when things work.

adam
