If the Alternate Recipient is a Custom Recipient (mail-enabled contact In
E2k) you can set mail limits on the properties on that recipient. Outlook
does not have to be open for this to work. No rule is required in Outlook.
If you do create a rule in OUtlook that forwards and it is not forwarding,
then most likely you are blocking replies to the Internet on the server side
which is a good thing.

Exchange 2000 (and I don't think 5.5 is different) only allows you to
set limits on all outgoing messages not on alt recip. However, I
believe the pager will truncate messages. At least I know that my cell
phone does.

Ok i am an idiot. lol How do I set this up in exchange with the file
size
limit? I thought about putting it in the alternate recipient field but
that
would seen all his email and not just the ones under a certain size.

The only way it will work with outlook is if outlook is open. You need
to set this up through Exchange and it works like a charm.

I have a user trying to have mail forward from his exchange mailbox to
his
pager whenever it comes in to his box. I setup a custom recipient that
points to the email address of his pager, and created a rule in his
outlook
to forward all incoming email to that custom recipient which points to
his
pagers internet address, but it will not work. anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
