[THIN] Re: OT: Deleting directory with invalid name

Not if the directory is a device name like "lpt1" or "com1"

You can often delete them by deleting their 8.3 equivalent name. To find
out a file's 8.3 equivalent, just run dir /x in that directory.

I had the same issue with a FTP server that wasn't locked down. Unfortuately
I wasn't able to remove them and I would be interested to know how you get
rid of them as well

I have a few directories that I need to delete but unfortunately, they have
invalid name like "COM1". Can anyone tell me how I can delete them. I
tried the rm.exe program but it only wants to delete files and not
directory.

Thanks for any help

Vince
