To be more clear, there is a trust between the NT4.0 domain and W2K domain.

But they logon on the W2K domain, so the W2K domain controller knows in
which OU the user is created and which User Policies are active for such a user.

I'd say no, as the W2000 machine has zero knowledge of them - its
logging onto a NT4 DC, not a 2k DC which has GP files.
