[THIN] Re: OT: Altiris deployment server issue

Let me take a look at my system and see if I can duplicate the issue.

No its PXE booting.=20

It PXE boots fine, and does its usual business with the Aname tool and =
other network tools runs Bootwork and then says, Deployment server has =
instructed bootwork to wait.

That's it. If I drag and drop and event to the new machine it goes and =
does its stuff with no problems.

The problem is that the client is not picking up the tasks like (deploy =
out and image and reconfigure machine etc..) set in the initial = deployment
event option.

All other sites I have setup Altiris on this has worked fine. But not = this
one.

Do you have the Bootworks partition on the machine?

No, it autoselects the initial deployment event when the workstation =3D =
boot as its not in the Altiris Database (New Machine).

Mac addresses are not restricted. It will deploy to all new machines =3D
starting up.

Are you hitting F8 when it boots up and selecting Initail Deployment =3D
Event? Also did you put the MAC address for this initial event to = execute
on?

Hi,

=3D20

I know this is off the topic, but I'm running out of ideas on this one.

=3D20

Has anyone out there experienced any problems with the initial =3D =
deployment event in Altiris deployment server 5.5 where a new
server/workstation = =3D will PXE boot and just wait for the deployment
server to issue an event to = =3D it. Even though there is one already set
to run.

=3D20

Creating a virtual machine appears to wok fine.
