[THIN] Re: No route to Specified Subnet Address

When you launch the application the ICA client will attempt to use
whatever proxy settings you have set. When you do a ping, tracert, etc,
it will not use the proxy settings. We had an issue where the client
would try and use our corporate proxy server and would error out. We had
to put an exclusion for that address range in IE.

We do use a proxy server, however, in my WI configuration settings I
have tried setting both no proxy and use the browser's configuration to
no avail.

Do you have any type of proxy server in your environment?

Netstat output shows both port 80 and port 1494 connections to the
correct IP of the citrix server

Thanks for the tips:

I can ping the server just fine from my workstation which is where I
open the WI from. The WI is the same server that is hosting the
application that I'm trying to open. The application is not load
balanced - it's specifically on this server.

What other information would be needed?

Many things could be going wrong here. I'm going to shoot some
troubleshooting ideas at you as there really isn't enough information to
tell what the problem really is.

1. Are the DEV and Production servers on the same subnet? Can you ping
the IP address you believe you should be connecting to from the
workstation you are connecting from?

2. Open a command prompt before clicking on the application icon and
prepare a 'netstat -n' command. Click on the icon and quickly switch
back to the command prompt and execute the 'netstat -n' command. See
what IP address you are attempting to connect to. Make sure it is what
you expect to be connecting to.

3. Do a trace route to the IP address?

4. Probably not an issue, but make sure that CSG and/or translation of
the Citrix address isn't a problem.

If these don't help, shoot more info out and maybe we can help.

Subject: [THIN] No route to Specified Subnet Address

Using MPS 3.0 and trying to access an app through the WI. When click
the icon, I get "No route to the specified subnet address"

I can successfully launch the app from my dev Citrix server, but not
production. Accessing the WI is all local, not from outside of my
company. I've read many articles on google but they all seem to talk
about the problem when accessing the server from the outside.

The dev and prod WI settings are configured identically.

Anyone offer me any help here?
