No issues for anyone connecting so far and I have even rebooted servers. I am going to keep it down for a few days to see when I start to have problems. BTW, this is only a test. My DS is not down, but I tested this at multiple clients and always came up with the same results: no connections... Anyone else tested this? If not, definitely try that. -----Original Message----- From: Erik Blom [mailto:erik.blom@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2003 8:36 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: No connections when DS down Ryan, thanks for your input. Do I have to do anything to get things working again after the DS is down, or does this happen automatically? I read in the Advanced Concepts Guide the following: <snip> All servers in the farm query the data store when they are started. The following registry setting determines whether or not IMA requires a connection to the data store to start: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\IMA\Runtime\PSRequired (DWORD) Value: 0 or 1 If the value is 0, IMA can start without a connection to the data store. If the value is 1, IMA requires a connection to the data store to start. After the first time the IMA Service starts successfully, the value is set to 0. </snip> Maybe I should set this value to 0 manually to get clients to be able to connect? Erik Ryan Lambert wrote: You should be able to connect using the local host cache of the Citrix servers in the farm, unless it's corrupted or something... But interesting. -----Original Message----- From: Erik Blom [mailto:erik.blom@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2003 8:05 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] No connections when DS down Hi, Something I don't get: when the Data Store is down, no client seems to be able to connect to a Citrix server. I thought that the grace period for datastore non-availability made sure that people could still connect to a Citrix server, while the DS was being 'troubleshooted'. Am I right on this? I checked that the Data Collector was running (it runs on a different machine than the datastore) so IMHO technically clients should be able to connect??
