By my calculations, theres 0.833 UK gallons to US gallons, so I guess you're paying $3.84 for a uk gallon, which XE.net says is £2.20 per gallon.. Now, our pumps are in litres.. Theres 4.546 litres to our gallon, meaning you're paying £0.48 per litre. There's a petrol strike/protest starting tomorrow because the pumps have reached £0.93 (last I saw anyway. Saw online the 97RON stuff has hit £1.01 now?!). Numbers might be a little out, but I blame google if they are :) Andrew On 13/09/05, Doug Rooney <doug@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Tom, > I was never too good with math, I figured $1.84 to the pound and 3.7854 > liters per gallon. > I paid about $3.199 per US gallon 15.05 US gallons $48.05, do they do > the .9 in the price > There as they do here? > > Thank You > > -Doug Rooney > Sonoma TileMakers > IT Systems Administrator > 7750 Bell Rd. > Windsor Ca, 95492 > (707) 837-8177 X11 > (707) 837-9472 FAX > it@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > The information contained in this e-mail may be confidential and is > intended solely for the use of the named addressee. > Access, copying or re-use of the e-mail or any information contained > therein by any other person is not authorized. > If you are not the intended recipient please notify us immediately by > returning the e-mail to the originator. > > > -----Original Message----- > From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On > Behalf Of Tom Howarth > Sent: Monday, September 12, 2005 10:06 PM > To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [THIN] Re: Newbie Questions > > > there is no way you can be paying more than the UK for petrol. the UK > price is now a average £1.00 per litre, or $1.82 per litre. you must of > got your conversion wrong. it costs me £65.00 to fill my BMW 5 series > now just 2 months ago I could fill it for £54.00 thats $118 now compared > with $98, 2 months ago. > > On 12/09/05, Doug Rooney <doug@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > Petrol would be good here too, converted from USD to Pounds We are > > only paying about a £1.5 per liter or £5.82 per gallon, What is it > > there now?A bit higher I would guess, I just spent Equiv. to almost > > £89 to fill my car, and it is a smaller one. > > > > Thank You > > > > -Doug Rooney > > Sonoma TileMakers > > IT Systems Administrator > > 7750 Bell Rd. > > Windsor Ca, 95492 > > (707) 837-8177 X11 > > (707) 837-9472 FAX > > it@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > > The information contained in this e-mail may be confidential and is > > intended solely for the use of the named addressee.
