Hmmm. I ran the eval a little while back and it went off without a
hitch. Do you have this in a Domain? You can't run it on a workgroup.
Just a thought.

I posted my impression of the product a while back. It is definitely a
worth while product, considering that it has a lot of the features of
XPe, at pricing that is less then XPs.

I wouldn't scrap a Metaframe Farm and replace it with this, but I do see
lots of good fits for the product.

Subject: [THIN] New Moon

I've been trying to evaluate the Canaveral IQ product for about a week.
The installation goes off without a hitch, and the Manager Console
starts fine. But after logging in, when I try to configure application
servers or groups or users or most anything, I get this error in the
browser:

Server Problem
Sorry, we are experiencing server problems and are unable to complete
your request. Please come back at a later time. Thank you.

Well, at least it's polite. This is a NewMoon error message (not IIS,
not SQL), and appears in the browser (IE6). I have the web server and
SQL2000 on the same server which, according to the docs, should not be a
problem. Application serving would be on a different box, if I ever get
that far. I'd really like to ring this out as an alternative to Citrix
(have you seen the feature set of 1.2? -
http://www.newmoon.com/products/features/ ), and New Moon tech support
has not been a big help. I suspect this is some kind of permissions
problem, but haven't been able to pin it down. Any suggestions?
-
Dennis
