What if (again not a web developer) a VBS or ASP script was written to
pup up a message box as the ICA file is called? It would require some
modification on the Launch.asp (or whatever they use in 1.7) but could
probably be done. This could say "please WAIT!!!!"

Or something clever.

Two solutions, then.

Enforce synchronous login script execution - or, disable usrlogon.cmd
from
executing automatically, and call it from your netware login script.
