Ha! The script had an innocuous OSVer="1" line. Changing it to OSVER=3 has
fixed everything and my servers are now happily cluttered up with outdated
and redundant name mappings.

I got close after a bit of tweaking. I adjusted the script so that it didn't
delete the existing maps and created the output file in the old wtsuprn.inf
format, exported the maps and reimported them with qprinter. It reported no
errors but didn't create any mappings either. Hmmm.
I then used the second script on that site to import the content of my
export file (after a little tweaking). The maps import OK but are all listed
for Windows 2000 instead of 2003! The exporting server was 2000 but there's
no reference to the server OS in the output file. Odd.

I'm sure I can do something with that. Thanks.

How about using this script from Ron Oglesby?
http://www.brianmadden.com/content/content.asp?ID=204
You should be able to modify it to your needs to export the mappings to a
file, then import them to your new farm.
Cheers.

Can Qprinter handle exporting the file in the first place?

How about using qprinter /imprmapping? Imports printer mappings from the
file specified by mappingfilename into the
data store. The file format can be in either the Wtsprnt.inf format or the
Wtsuprn.txt format.

I've just created a new server farm and datastore to clear a persistent
server problem we've been having. The new PS3 datastore seems to be working
well but is there any way to import the extensive list of printer name
mappings from the old farm? I'll hate to type them all in manually!
