Hi Roger,

Im doing the same thing apart from using Res Powerfuse and i hide
drives/restrict drives using a GPO.
Because of the drive restriction a locked down user will have the
Aministrator has restricted etc etc message. They can then select the drive
letter required after clicking Ok.

Similar behaviour is found with Outlook with attachments and restricted
drives. The work around for that is to specifiy the secure temp file with a
reg hack or custom policy.

I redirect my docs to their home drive. I hide access to all drives
except for designated mapped drives and the home drive. I'm using
PowerFuse to hide the drives and not GPO, though.

When they try to download in IE, they are able to select any of the
drives that aren't restricted.

Don't know about changing default download folder, I do know that you
can redirect the Temp Int FIles via a reg edit (I don't recall it
being available from w2k folder redirection GPO's).

Go to
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Us
er
Shell Folders" and look the the "cache"  entry.
